Over the years we have installed several large-scale interlocking paver projects. This estate driveway installation was our largest to date. It included three large driveways combining into an even larger parking pad area all totalling approximately 15,000 sq ft of pavers.
This specific customer has been a long-time client and over the years we have completed many projects on this country estate. Some of those projects included armour stone around their pond, many garden and planting renovations throughout the property, and weekly maintenance to name a few.
In 2017, they wanted to address the gravel driveway, and come up with best solution to improve it. We helped them explore all options such as concrete, asphalt, and pavers, as well as combinations of the three to create interest. Asphalt was the most economical, but didn’t suit a country estate property at all. We were also suggesting an interlocking paver border to soften the black asphalt and to create interest, but in the end, interlocking pavers won out.
The largest issue we had with this project was the volume of material that needed to be removed, and then delivered to the site. After some exploratory digging throughout the driveway, we established that the depth of the existing gravel was sufficient for a paver installation and after that we were off and running. Two weeks later it was complete and the clients couldn’t be happier with their new driveway.
